Alcazaba fortification in Malaga, Spain

Malaga - one of the oldest towns in the world. Populated in 2800 years. The fortification Alcazaba from the medival times coming up after a Muslim ruling of 800 years and of course after the Romans - a hifghtime in the city after Isabel an Ferdinad conquered the Muslims in the end of the 1400 AC.

Here it is this mix of fortification and gardens a November day 2015.

Should the way to the top of the fortification be too heavy - why not stop for a refreshing bath in the summer heat.

Catalan street dance in Collioure, France

The dance ensemble from Perpignan perform their dance on the main square in Collioure, France.

There is presently a strong wish amongst the Catalans  in Spain to become a new independent state in Europe, totally free from Spain.

The Catlans is not only present in North of Spain but also in the Southern part of France in the region Languedoc-Rousillon (especially the Southern part.)

Freedom for Catalonia (?)

With hope that the process for an independent Catalonia can continue without any big conflict with the rest of Spain.

There is also a part of Catalonia to be found in south of France where the demand for liberty versus the French government is just not as strong as it is South of the Pyrenees.

Here from a festival in Collioure, France.

Mining waste (spoil tip) in Rummu west of Tallinn, Estonia

Popular for photog this area with all the rest wast from many years of mining at this place out in the Estonian landscape.

From the net:
Rummu quarry was used as a mining site for Vasalemma marble (a kind of limestone) for a very long time.
Most of the workforce came from among the detainees of Murru prison.

When the prison was closed, pumps that kept the quarry and the prison dry were shut down.
According to a legend, water rose so quickly that it covered a large mining excavator and other equipment that could have been taken to a higher ground well in time.
