Cold dawn

Another morning from a wintery dressed mountain in the lower mountains of Norway southwest.
Our outdoor camp fire is well hidden under the snow where some old tracks from a passing hare is visible.
After the long nordic night the sun and light is finally making its entrance (the time is app. (10AM).

Winter night in the mountain cabin Norway

Photographing from the mountain house towards the small guesthouse/cabin right outside.
If you study the snow you will see that that there is not yet made a path to the little house (it was done the morning after this night).
The light inside the cabin is controlled from the main house - as it add some warmth in the setting. And over it all the moon passes and add some sparkling glitters in the snow....

This night the temperature dropped to -30C up here in the low mountains in Norway Southwest.

Norway in January - A winter dream

January have been cold but with many sunny days in Norway South. As here in the lower mountains of Southern Norway in Tisleidalen, Valdres. The trees are still covered in snow, more looking like whipped cream in a setting like this.

Rendez vous in the Medina, Marrakech

The souks in the medina represents such an adventure to visit. With all the twisted narrow streets and all the shops and craftsmen scattered all over the old town – so different from our daily environment in the North of Europe. Try it out sometime… (if you haven't already)

Video from a 4WD Jeep tour to the Atlas Mountains

When you are in Marrakech, Morocco the majestetic Atlas Mountains presents themself as a grand backstage to the flat terrain of the city itself.

We recommend that you spend a day with a local tour guide (i.e. Viator.com) in a big 4WD Jeep - not only to visit the mountains but also to have an exciting visit to a Berber village, including a visit to a local home.

Take a look at the video and have som impressions from this interesting day.

No photo of my fish pls!

Walking in the narrow streets of the Medina in Marrakech, Morocco, offer many impressions and interesting sights and motifs for a photographer. But some times you should not take your photos to openly as in this small fish market where the shopkeeper clearly does not want us to have our small photo souvenir of the place.

The Majorelle Garden

The Majorelle Garden (Arabic: حديقة ماجوريل) is a twelve-acre botanical garden and artist's landscape garden in Marrakech, Morocco. It was designed by the expatriate French artist Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s and 1930s, during the colonial period when Morocco was a protectorate of France.

The garden has been open to the public since 1947. Since 1980 the garden has been owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé.

After Yves Saint Laurent died in 2008 his ashes were scattered in the Majorelle Garden.

More from a wintery Norway

The river Tisleia in January

The frost mist is hanging over the shores along the river Tisleia as it is still floating with open water, even in -20C. Up here in the central mountains of Norway we experience some very cold, but beautiful days in this first month of 2013,
