A kind of selfportrait from Madrid

In the Parque de Retiro in Madrid we was visiting this small art exhibition/studio setting that was open this summer. By entering a white closed room the photographer could make his selfportrait by standing by the mirror - while at the same time the madam was a part of the same setting by just position herself beside the mirror - or something like that.... Anyway a fun result and quite original IMO.

Norway mountain landscape 2013

In Jotunheimen, the mountains in central Norway, the cows are at their summer farm - digging in the juicy grass up there in the fresh air. Off beaten places like this are never hard to find in our small country up in the North of Europe - just outside the EU zone....

Mountain biking in Norway

A perfect day to do a biking tour in the Jutunheimen, the central mountains in Norway.

Our choice was to use our new el.bikes along the lake Vinstrevatnet - close to the more famous route 51.

You will find some more photos from this region right here:

The Sultans Copper Tent in Stockholm

What a sight to meet when biking through the green Swedish lake landscape in Hagaparken in Stockholm. Neighboor to the mansion of the crownprincess this strange building reveals itself. Included a museum of the Hagaparken and a cafeteria for some drinks and food. Extraordinaire experience in your Stockholm biking tour....

WIKI: The Sultan's Copper Tents, originally three buildings for the palace guard, designed by the painter Louis Jean Desprez and built during 1787 to 1790. Desprez proposed that all the façades of the buildings should be designed as three Turkish tents, clad in decoratively painted copper plate. However, tent façades were only built on the side facing the main lawns, which still gives the desired illusion of a sultan's encampment on the edge of the forest.

Reflection of an old boat

The old boat was doing it's duty to pull lumber on the lakes and canals in Southeast Norway from 1903 to 1920. Her name was SS "Thor".

After the active duty she has been used by private owners right up until today. Sometimes they changed her motor from steam to diesel.

The capture from her anchor place right by the Halden Canal presents an idyllic setting in a weather like here.

Below a spectacular video from 2 of the power plants: Vamma and Solbergfoss.

Power in motion

The snow is melting up in the mountains and the rivers are filled with the water - being led out to the coast by the huge river as this one the biggest of them all (in Norway): Glomma.

This photo from tonight is shot just some few kilometers from my home at "The Solbergfoss Hydro electric powerplant" where they have opened one of the floodgates for a mighty sight....

The Power Plant was build already in 1913.

Bon Voyage

A container ship as it leaves the deep sea harbour in the small village Port-Vendres in the South of France, close to the Spanish border. Port-Vendres means something like the Port of Commerce and is an important Mediterranian harbour for this part of France.

Originally it was used as a harbour for the neighboor village Collioure where there was a big Royal Castle for the kings of Mallorca.

The first settlers can be traced back to the time of the Foenics who came to rest here after crossing the Mediterranian in ancient times.

The Cap Béar semaphore built in 1861, belongs to the French National Navy and is used to control the sea traffic and to establish weather forecasts.

A grey day in South of France

The last days of April in South of France was windy, cold and with lots of rain - not what you was expecting coming down from the even colder North of Europe.

The photo from the shores of Lac du Raho a little bit south of Perpignan in Languedoc-Rousillon - France.

April morning at the Swedish WestCoast

Early morning in the marine environment along the WestCoast of Sweden by the popular fishing village Smøgen. For this motif the simplicity of details and the dull morning mood creates a painted effect to the included details IMO....

Fishermens cabins in Smøgen, westcoast Sweden

Smøgen this little village at the wescoast in Sweden is most popular in the summer.
In this visit from April 2013 we have a feeling of the place itself and the small houses sheltered behind the low hilled coast landscape.
There is said to be fishermen from Holland that was the first to populate this leg of the coast in medival times - learning the locals their secret to fish herring etc...

A glass of Chardonney for the sunset

A chilly evening in April sitting at a seafood restaurant in the small village Kungshamn at the Swedish WestCoast - enjoying a glass of Chardonney looking out to the sunset silhouetting the bridge over to Smøgen. What a setting....

The last bus from Smøgen

In the sunset of April a bus passes the bridge connecting the West Coast villages of Smøgen and Kungshamn in Sweden - it seems far more dramatic than the ordinaire sunset of the spring.

Just a perfect day in April in the seascape and coastal habitat outside the small fishing village Smøgen at the Swedish West Coast.
